On October 6, the 2023 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Narges Mohammadi.

Ms. Mohammadi was honoured “for her fight against the oppression of women in Iran and her fight to promote human rights and freedom for all.”

The 51-year-old activist heard the news from an Iranian prison, where she is serving a 10-year sentence for “spreading anti-state propaganda.”
