Tuition is going up – way up – for out-of-province students at Quebec’s three English universities. Tuition at McGill, Concordia, and Bishop’s University will jump from $9000 to $17,000 next year. That’s almost double. International students will also see a steep increase.

Where will the money go? The extra revenue will help support the province’s French universities, which are struggling financially.

The Quebec government announced the increase on October 20. What prompted the decision?
