Every spring, the federal government delivers a budget to the House of Commons. It lays out how it will collect and spend money in the year ahead.

On April 16, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Chrystia Freeland shared the Liberal government’s budget for 2024. The key points called for “fairness for every generation,” building more homes as quickly as possible, and driving economic growth.

“We are making life cost less,” Minister Freeland said.
