On May 27, King Charles III delivered the Speech from the Throne in Ottawa. In it, the Liberal government introduced its plans for its new term in power.

The Speech opened Canada’s 45th Parliament. Now, the House of Commons and the Senate can officially get down to work.

It was the King’s 20th trip to Canada and his first as monarch.
