The last time St. John’s, Newfoundland hosted the Canada Games was in 1977. So, this summer’s return of the athletic competition to the city was a pretty big deal. That was clear when fans leapt up to welcome Team Newfoundland and Labrador as folk rockers Great Big Sea played rousing music.
