Children’s author Elizabeth MacLeod got a phone call in October. It was the Governor General’s office calling, with very good news. 

Governor General Mary Simon was making 80 new appointments to the Order of Canada on December 31. And Ms. MacLeod was one of them. 

“I still find it hard to accept that I’ve been given this incredible honour,” she said. “I definitely wear my Order of Canada pin with pride!”
