At 14, hockey player Mila Ramdas realized all her coaches had been men.

Now, at 16, she’s on a mission to give younger girls something she never had: a female coach. She’s committed to giving young female players the training, confidence, and encouragement they need to excel in a traditionally male-dominated sport. 

Hockey heroines for the next generation

Ms. Ramdas plays for the under-18 Mississauga Hurricanes. But this year, she is also the head coach of an under-seven girls’ team.
