Canada sent 207 athletes to the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics in February. They won 21 medals—five gold, seven silver, and nine bronze.
It was a win for equity, too. More than half of our athletes were women, a first for Canada at the Winter Games.
Some 2900 athletes from 92 nations took part in the Games, competing in 16 sports and 116 events. About 1.3 million tickets were sold. Billions of people all over the world watched on TV or social media, while others live-streamed the event.
