NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) rocket with the Orion spacecraft aboard is seen atop the mobile launcher as it is rolled up the ramp at Launch Pad 39B, on August 17, 2022, at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

A crew of three mannequins will soon blast off aboard the world’s most powerful rocket. Their 42-day mission to the Moon and back is the first phase of the Artemis program, an exciting new lunar exploration program that aims to land humans on the Moon by 2025.

Testing, testing

Artemis I, slated to launch in September, will test-drive the SLS rockets and Orion spacecraft to ensure they can launch a human crew into space and bring them back safely.
