Quebec tabled a new child labour law in March that establishes new employment standards for young people. The law is designed to reduce the number of teens who drop out of school or get injured in the workplace.

Quebec currently has no minimum working age. Kids as young as 11 are getting jobs. Not typical first jobs, like babysitting, tutoring, and delivering newspapers. Many are working long hours in grocery stores, restaurants, and other businesses.
