Vials of the malaria vaccine.

The World Health Organization (WHO) released exciting news this month. It’s rolling out the first malaria vaccine for children in sub-Saharan Africa.

Malaria is one of the oldest known diseases in history. It’s responsible for half of all deaths since the Stone Age.

Today, nearly half the world’s population is at risk. Someone contracts malaria every seven seconds. Every two minutes, it kills a child under five.
